R.U... in the mix?
This is a sharing circle for mixed race people to come together and share are experiences, discuss and connect.
Meeting Bi-monthly the format of the group is a 15/20 min talk from a guest speaker who will share on a topic and/or their experience and then attendees will be invited to share back on whatever they choose for approx 3 mins. There will be a relaxed socialising time after which where attendees can have further discus and connect.
Rhys: I can only speak for myself when I say that growing up mixed race had affected every facet of my identity. Too much to begin to talk about here. I walk into groups often filled with people who have a mono racial identity.. I’ve come to realise that mixedraceness is its own identity and I’m craving a space with other people who share this identity. Even my mixed race-ness will be different to the multitude of other mixed race experiences but I am want to connect with others who have the same or similar identities. This is my attempt to make a space for such connection.
