RIM is a pop-up d¥ke wine bar by two d¥kes who work in food and wine. it’s a bar for everyone who loves wine - whether you know your vouvray from your vosne-romanée, or are enthusiastic about cold vinho verde in victoria park.
RIM shines a spotlight on women winemakers making delicious wine.
RIM is split into two parts -
7-8PM:
ticketed tasting event for those who’d like to learn more about wine, with a tasting flight and semi-formal wine education from a wine professional. there are 3 wines and tickets are £20.
8-11PM:
free-entry wine night open to all, with glasses starting at £7.50 from the bar. this time we’re also offering a limited £6 first-drink ticket (red or white) for the social from 8PM*
there will also be cocktail, beer, sake, cider, and low to no-alc options, as well as small plates and snacks.
THE VIBE
an unpretentious “fancy wine night” for the people: long conversations, soft music, and dressing up “just because”. curated wine lists, small plates, fair prices. down-to-earth, chill vibes. because we all deserve nice things!
NO DRINK MINIMUM! low to no alc options from 8PM!
ACCESSIBILITY
the venue has a step in the doorway, approx 15 cm. everything is on the same floor. the wine tasting is indoors, in one room (no quiet room). there is an outdoor area on each side of the venue. seating will be at a mix of short and tall tables/chairs. the toilets are gender-neutral. if you require specific accommodations, let us know when RSVPing and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
SAFER SPACE
this is a private event. we will take over the indoor area from 7 to 8PM, then the entire venue from 8PM. if anyone is making you uncomfortable, let an organizer know, and we’ll step in.
the bar is queer-managed and very aware of the community’s higher safety needs.
transfem, transmasc, non-binary, cis, intersex, bi and ace d¥kes are all welcome. if you identify as a d¥ke, this is your space.
