very excited to announce the 3rd iteration of ‘held up to the light: a variety show’ - 2 weeks from now, marking the occasion of the piehouse anniversary weekend 🎂
we’re really lucky with this lineup:
an experimental audiovisual performance from midnightswami
a reading from Lucy Broome
a performance from Ellis Berwick and Willow Swan
short films from Lianne Leung and Oddalys
and a one-night-only group, ‘new years eve, the ensemble’, consisting of Tin Wing, Ku-Ro, Mara Never, Frank Godden, and Sonny Caplan-Higgs
+ a new textile piece made by Sophia Zdes
it’s hard to process everything that’s happened for/at our venue over this year (immense gratitude for all the continued support): but there’s no better way to celebrate than by making space for experimental work from extremely talented artists. this variety show has always been about exploring the new, the recently conceived, the unfinished, the old reworking of an idea - a chance for the audience to find inspiration as much as it is for the artists to try things out. now more than ever artists in London need to find genuine ways to be together, so come & find new friends (or collaborators?) in the crowd. it’s really what the piehouse is here for!
