Join the British Mining Out of the Philippines campaign for an evening research hackathon digging into Metals Exploration PLC and its subsidiaries operating in the Philippines.
Together, we’ll investigate mining exploration activities, corporate structures, human rights abuses, and environmental destruction linked to British mining interests. This is a hands-on, collaborative space to build skills, share knowledge, and strengthen the movement for corporate accountability.
We need all hands on deck across our working groups:
🔎 Research – corporate accountability, financial research, environmental and human rights investigations
📢 Media & Comms – shaping narratives, creating content, amplifying findings
🤝 Outreach – building connections, growing the campaign, mobilising support
Whether you already have research skills or want to sharpen your ability to investigate corporate power, financial flows, and environmental harms tied to mining — we need you!
Bring your laptop and be part of holding British mining companies to account.
We will be joined by London Mining Network who will be skill sharing the types of research they do to investigate London mining companies and how they do it!
The event will be held at SOAS Main Building, Room G3.
