Following on from diverse productions such as 5 Guys Chillin’ and F’ing Men comes the next LGBT play at the King’s Head Theatre. Written by Patrick Cash and directed by Luke Davies this is sure to be another strong piece of theatre tackling issues in the LGBT community head on.
Their previous play The Clinic received rave reviews and now they have returned with Queers; stories of the brilliant but sometimes fractured LGBT community that we all know and love.
Meet the new characters from the creative mind of Patrick Cash. Firstly, Patricia Primarché, the cheap drag queen, as she returns to her rural home town; Raving Robbo the Vauxhall clubber bumping the odd drug at work; Old Tom as he recounts his fight for gay liberation to a bored young barman; Carol the vegan lesbian whose life changes when she meets PJ the activist; Larry the Laydeez' Lothario on a straight stag-do; and Queen Marsha F Star Star King Fabulous, a street trans star of Dalston. How many of these characters can you relate to?
Queers features the acting talents of Zachariah Fletcher, Jack Cole, Matthew Hodson, Jarrod Kentrell and Siân Docksey.
So join Pat and OutSavvy at the King’s Head in celebrating the final months of their 45th year with inaugural new writing festival #Festival45. Featuring the best of major UK arts festivals, #Festival45 offers 23 young exciting companies a chance to take part in this new, unique format at the King's Head Theatre and bring their work to one of London’s most diverse and dynamic Off West End venues. Artistic Director of the King’s Head, Adam Spreadbury-Maher, says: "This is the first time we've ever done anything like this, and we’ve scaled the country to find interesting and unique new writing pieces from exciting companies. This is an experiment for us, but we believe that this is how fringe festivals should be run!"
