Rainbow Roundtable = discussion with LGBTQ+ communities to improve health & wellbeing
You’re invited to a discussion group about what it means to be trans and non-binary and neurodivergent.
We want to learn more about how your experiences affect your health and wellbeing, and hear your ideas about what would make a difference for you.
This event involves talking, and also playing, writing, drawing and any other way you wish to express yourself.
Refreshments and fidget toys available, and we can help with travel costs if you need this.
Places are limited, so please only book if you are confident you will attend.
Any questions? Call 0121 643 0821 and leave a message for Maria, or email MariaHughes@blgbt.org.
This event is not suitable for people who are not trans and non-binary and/ or seeking to attend to represent an organisation.
Birmingham LGBT is working with Birmingham Public Health to find out more about the things which affect the health and wellbeing of LGBTQ+ people and what can be done to make improvements.
We work on the principle that people know what they need and what does and doesn't work for them. We want to hear about both good and bad experiences, and work with people to develop solutions to help improve their lives. These could be anything from raising awareness and how people can help themselves, to developing new services or improving existing ones.
The event will be facilitated by Maria Hughes and based around conversation starters which are already set, but these are just a guide. We can talk or express about whatever the group thinks is interesting and important. Participants are free to tell the group about examples from your own lives, but don't have to - we share whatever we feel comfortable with.
Participants will be sent the conversation starters in advance, to help you prepare for the experience, but you don't have to have answers ready.
