Camp! Audience corruption! Singalongs! It is time for the London Heats of Queerovision Series 5!
This year, we are having five heats: three in London, one in Liverpool and one at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe.
Eight fabulous comedians will take to the stage in each heat, with just five minutes to win your heart and your vote. After everyone has performed, it will be down to our audience, our acts’ personal jury and our guest juries to award points to their favourite acts!
Only the four acts with the highest amount of points from each heat will continue in the competition:
- The Winner: Goes straight to the Grand Final on 30th November.
- The Three Runner-Ups: Will head to the Semi-Finals (26th October & 9th November) for a second chance at glory.
As usual, the show will be hosted by the iconic and multi-lingual drag comedian Teena (@sheisveryfamous).
Competing in this heat, we welcome:
Eden Voss
Alfie Nelson
Harry Legge
Moesha Keswani
Willow Marler
Rhys The Queen
Ben Tulloh
Nicky G
And for this heat, we welcome our special guest judges:
ALEXIS STRUM (@alexisstrum)
Cult 00s pop icon, singer, songwriter, actress, comedian, mum…. These are just a few words we can use to describe our Teena. But they can also be used to describe guest judge Alexis Strum. Having received a recent resurgence to the zeitgeist through her viral videos and subsequent packed out live shows, we are delighted that she will be joining us on our Queerovision judging panel. And she is a Funny Women AND Leicester Square NCOTY semi-finalist so she knows her onions!
ANNA HALE (@allhaleanna)
Award winning comedian and powerhouse vocalist Anna Hale might have just missed the crown on Queerovision Series 3, but her career continues to go from strength to strength. Last year, her debut Edinburgh Fringe show Control Freak sold out to huge critical acclaim, she has been Children’s Director for an Olivier Award Winning Play, and her celebrity fans include Lily Allen and Chris Martin.
The winner of Queerovision Series 5 will receive a trophy, a cemented place in the Queerovision Hall-of-Fame, as well as a prize money cannot buy.
Get ready for the best series yet!
