Trans Unity Quilt Workshop Bristol @ St Anne's House
Inspired by the history of textile art in liberation struggles across the world, the Trans Unity Quilt will be a giant, collaborative patchwork quilt: a tangible symbol of our diversity and resilience. We’ll be working with individuals and groups throughout the UK to create the quilt during the first half of 2026 before coming together to march our finished quilt at London Trans+ Pride March in July.
With this project, we want to offer grounding, hopeful collective action in a time of rising hatred and hopelessness. Textile art has long been a tool for radical societal change and resistance: tangible, physical, taking up space with its weight and beauty. Our message with the Trans Unity Quilt and its display - first in London, and then throughout the UK - is that we too are a physical reality that cannot be erased or denied. We’re taking up space, and taking up our own stories in defiance, solidarity and joy, independent of any judgement or hate.
Come along to make a patch and join trans people across the UK in creating a huge and permanent statement of our joy, diversity and resilience as a community. Snacks, drinks and craft supplies provided. No skills needed!
