The story of a town, warts and all!
Venture back in time and visit Leeds during a time of plague with a time travelling resident as part of Leeds400!
Visit the towne of Leedes in a time when Yorkshire was known for the strength of its beer, soldiers fought in the street, and Plague tore through rows of wooden houses. This event is part tour-part promenade performance. Ask your historical host anything you want, she'll be sure to have an answer! This is a unique way of experiencing history that shouldn’t be missed!
We will start outside Leeds Minster before moving on to, Briggate and ending at St John's Church, one of the finest 17th century churches in England! This journey will take approximately an hour and end with the option of joining us at a fine tavern after. Both local and national history will be covered. Leeds Civic Trust members receive a special rate on their tickets. Please check out all our walks through Leeds from 1646 through to 1999, covering Meanwood, Armley, Hyde Park and the City Centre.
