Curious about how everyday digital tools work? Join this free, beginner-friendly session led by our facilitator Dave, introducing the basics of common software and simple coding in a relaxed and supportive environment.
You’ll explore how programs like Excel organise and calculate data, learn the differences between tools such as Word, Publisher and PowerPoint, and pick up tips to improve presentations. In the second half, you’ll be introduced to coding using the beginner-friendly platform Scratch, where you’ll create your own character and experiment with movement, loops and dialogue. There will be plenty of time for questions throughout.
What do I need to bring?
Please bring a laptop and charger if possible. We have limited spare equipment available – please email ppmcc@rmg.co.uk in advance if you need to borrow one. You may also wish to bring a notepad and pencil. Light refreshments (hot drinks and biscuits) will be provided.
