In the past year our organisers have started 5 new gardens, recruited over 400 new gardeners in the borough and have put significant pressure on the council to support growers in the borough. Our Training Weekend held in summer 2025 was a huge part of building the confidence and plans needed to do that. So we're doing it again!
The WF Right to Grow is trying to build something big in our borough! We want to transform our corner of the city into a glowing example of people reclaiming their space and reconnecting with the land. We want to help as many people as possible to start growing food on underused land and we want to show our local authority that there is a groundswell of support for this change. To do that we're going to build our small but mighty crew of people skilled up and committed to helping grow the movement across Waltham Forest. Could you be part of that?
Through learning from experienced community organisers, reflecting on the successes and failures from the campaign so far, and making concrete plans focused on specific parts of the borough, you'll leave this weekend part of a new cohort of Right To Grow organisers ready to get stuck in to this movement to transform our food system and relationship to land. If you have any questions please email info@wfrtg.co.uk.
