In April, racist far-right groups are mobilising in Manchester, and we know that many of our community may be at counter-demo’s resisting, or feeling anxious being out and about.
We also know that many Muslims have struggled to find spaces for community aftercare and support during these mobilisations.
In response, the Muslim Social Justice Initiative is holding a care and decompression space on the evening of Saturday 18th.
This space will be for
- Muslims who have been at the counter demonstration
- Allies and friends who are with them
- Anyone in our communities impacted by these mobilisations in our city
Expect a grounded, intentional space to be in safe community.
We will be sending the location of the event on the day to all who have signed up, so please do register for a free ticket.
We also have our travel fund for Muslims in Manchester who may need a taxi to get to this space. Please drop us a line at info@msji.org for more info.
Please note that MSJI's first priority is always to safeguard the wellbeing of staff, volunteers, and participants. With this in mind, MSJI reserves the right to refuse or refund tickets at its discretion. Any decision to do so is not made lightly and will only ever be on the basis of safeguarding.
