The intention is for this to be a chill, supportive and connecting space for freelancers for Palestine.
- Bring a hot drink, snack, or whatever helps you take a break.
- Feel free to speak, contribute in the chat, and/or listen, being mindful to share the space equitably so that anyone who wants to speak gets a chance.
I'm LiLi (lee-lee, they/them), and I'll be hosting the videocall. I don't represent an organisation, I'm not a professional activist or tech expert, and I'm not looking for you to be either.
You just need to be a freelancer who supports a free Palestine and wants to participate in Workplace Day of Action for Palestine, in some way.
As freelancers, we may not have typical workplaces, but we can still participate. Free from larger organisations, there might even be unique and radical ways we can take part!
So let's use our initiative as freelancers and help each other take actions in the spirit of the day.
Here's an example of the kind of thing you and others may want to share when you join, no pressure:
- Recommendations or tips: Maybe there's a service that has helped you leave oppressive tech, or software you want to shout about
- Challenges or areas you want support: For example, are you struggling to persuade clients to stop using a collaboration tool you're boycotting?
- Highlights or celebrations from your Palestine solidarity work life: What's helped you take action? Maybe you're celebrating switching email providers, or moving cloud storage solutions
Or something else!
