This workshop is present by Tramway as part of Breakin' Convention
Step into the fire. Tell bigger stories.
Enter the world of Olivier Award winning TRAPLORD in this exclusive workshop for professional dancers where hip hop meets theatre in a raw, powerful performance experience.
Delivered by a company member, this workshop arrives in Glasgow as part of Breakin’ Convention at Tramway on Saturday 23 May 2026 the world’s biggest festival of hip hop theatre.
Created by visionary choreographer Ivan Michael Blackstock, TRAPLORD is a groundbreaking work exploring masculinity and mental health through a compelling fusion of movement and storytelling.
Blackstock’s career includes choreography for Beyoncé’s Black Is King and Brown Skin Girl, Artistic Director of 180 Studios, and founder of CRXSS PLATFXRM working with partners including Southbank Centre, Nike, Red Bull and Central Saint Martins as well as his own production company ALTRUVIOLET.
In this session, you’ll explore TRAPLORD’s distinct movement language, combining hip hop styles with character, narrative, and emotional intensity. Expect to build strength, precision, and expressive depth while pushing your artistic boundaries.
Pre-show: Stay and experience the full Breakin’ Convention programme across the venue.
