About the event
For this train journey you can use contactless pay as you go - you are not required to purchase a ticket in advance, however if you have your own personal travel pass you may get cheaper options for yourself using that.
Trains to Balcombe.
We will be getting the 9:35 ThamesLink train from London Bridge, arriving in Balcombe at 10:16am.
Meeting point.
We will meet outside WHSmith at London Bridge Station at 9:10am (by the ‘Meet at the Heart’ meeting point on the lower concourse. We will be boarding the train as soon as boarding commences to try and ensure we can all get a seat, so please arrive no later than 9:15am.
Return to London.
We will be taking the train back from Balcombe around 5pm. We expect that this adventure walk will take approximately 6 hours with rest points and breaks planned throughout, however we cannot guarantee exactly what time train we will be taking back to London.
What to bring.
Comfortable walking boots/shoes are required for this walk. The route is mostly flat, but there will be some points where we will need to walk up hill, and this trek is known to be very muddy!
Drinking water is essential. There are parts of the walk where there will be long distances and no shops to buy supplies.
Lunch and snacks. We will plan for rest breaks throughout the walk but please bring a pack lunch with you as there may not be any opportunity to purchase food when we take our lunch break.
