Community Organising: Why are these queers so vocal?
Hastings Queer History Collective member Mark Caffery is joined by Asad Zafar (The Love Tank CIC) and Erin (Folkestone Bookshop).
Together they will reflect on queer approaches to community organising and mutual aid, and how understanding queer histories can shape the way we build real and online spaces for connection and care.Hosted in the former location of Blades, a secret gay nightclub in 1980s St Leonards, this panel will explore themes of activism, clubbing, community and radical care within queer histories and communities.
Friction. Shame. Politics. Night-time economies. Queer family. Solidarity. Accessibility. Sarah Schulman. Food. Leaving home. Disrupting the peace.
Join us for an exploration of the many possibilities and necessities of queer community organising.
