Led by Gaynor Smith, this interactive workshop introduces the principles of Theatre of the Oppressed as a dynamic methodology for examining oppression in its many forms. Through practical drama exercises, participants will explore power, identity and resistance, with a focus on experiences within the queer community alongside other marginalised groups. The session builds connection, empathy and collective understanding in a supportive space.

Speaker
Gaynor is a theatre practitioner specialising in Theatre of the Oppressed. For over a decade, she has applied this approach across youth engagement, international development, corporate and community sectors, working in solidarity with people facing systemic barriers in the UK and internationally.

Access: From the street, wheelchair users should be aware there is a downward gradient that leads to a level entrance. The event will take place in the ground floor. There is level access to an accessible toilet.
Westminster City Archives are located on 10 St Ann's Street, London SW1P 2DE between Morrison Court on 12 St Ann’s Street and behind Abbey Community Centre on Great Smith Street. The entrance to the archives is to the right of Morrison Court and then down a short pathway on the left. Please note there is no access to the archives from Great Smith Street.
