Every time I open instagram I see fundraisers for Trans people who need the money for their healthcare; whether for gender affirming care, support through sickness or disability aids not provided by the NHS.

There is clearly a huge problem within our community in terms of access to healthcare, waiting lists are dangerously long and very few of us have funds to pay for healthcare privately.

This panel will be a discussion about this issue and the growing trend of fundraiser events organised to pay for trans healthcare.

AIM

There are several aims for this event:

To talk about the barriers trans people face in accessing healthcare
To have press as a documentation of trans lives in London. Part of creating an archive of our existence. Controlling the narrative of what trans people are doing in London.
To explore the rise of community led fundraising through nightlife and the history of this
To platform events so we can collectively raise funds
To share advice, tips, and resources

SCHEDULE
18:30-19:00 - arrival and mingling time
19:00-19:15 - Introduce the calendar etc.
19:15-19:45 - Panel
19:45-20:00 - Comfort break
20:00-20:30 - Panel + Q&A
20:30-21:00 - Mingle/Finish

VENUE POINTS / ACCESS
There is a step free entrance to the space, it is separate to the main entrance and there will be someone to direct you
All spaces we are using are step free
