Written by JDT Music Academy’s SEND lead, Jude Oularé, and performed by our Shooting Stars performing arts gorup, this original musical shines a spotlight on the extraordinary life and legacy of Norwich’s remarkable Colman family — pioneers, philanthropists, innovators, and the minds behind the world-famous Colman’s Mustard.
Far more than a household name, the Colmans helped shape the city of Norwich through forward-thinking ideas, social reform, education, housing, healthcare, and support for working families long before such values became commonplace. Their vision transformed not only industry, but the lives of thousands across the city.
Through music, storytelling, and powerful performances, this production celebrates a family whose influence can still be felt across Norwich today — from Carrow Works to the city’s cultural and civic life.
A story of ambition, compassion, community, and innovation — this is the story of Norwich’s mustard dynasty.
Shooting Stars is JDT Music Academy's vibrant performing arts program focused on drama and stage production, offering participants the opportunity to explore the exciting world of theatre and performance. Shooting Stars is more than just a drama class—it’s a creative journey. Each year, the group works together to learn an original show, develop characters, rehearse songs, build sets, craft props, and design costumes—culminating in a live performance in front of an audience.
Through drama exercises, role-playing, chorus or solo singing, movement, and behind-the-scenes activities like costume and prop design, every participant has the opportunity to shine.
We’re dedicated to supporting each individual’s needs and use Signalong to support communication, ensuring everyone can become a “Shooting Star.”
