Poetry is not A Luxury - Open Mic Night for Black Queers & Queer POC
Using Audre Lorde's words as a prompt, you are invited to an informal evening of readings, writing and open mic. Poetry, Lorde asserts, ‘forms the quality of the light within which we predicate our hopes and dreams toward survival and change.’;
This evening event is a closed event for queer black people and queer people of colour to share poetic work and read through Lorde’s short (two- page) essay together. Erotic poetry and work that explores sensuality, touch, satisfaction and pleasure is encouraged but all genres and themes are welcome.
Paper and pens provided but feel free to bring your notebook.
If you'd like to perform in the open mic kindly fill out this form:https://form.typeform.com/to/gD1PbHG8
