The Divine Fringe Presents…
Charlie Wood: Garden Brides
“I’ve never been a woman of unusual tastes...”
The first showing of a new heteropessismist horror comedy. A tale of two housewives and a garden gnome. Tensions rise in sleepy East Thistleford when two women are mysteriously drawn to the same lawn ornament. A deeper and more confusing connection builds between them as they fall deeper into their psychosexual gnome cult. A surreal tale of otherworldly desire written by and starring punk rock cabaret icon Charlie Wood alongside off west end star Elspeth Day-Collins. Directed by internationally renown multi-hyphenate Rebecca Solomon and produced by London underworld legend Yasmin M. Khan. After winning Best Theatrical Production at the inaugural Divvy awards, The Garden Brides is back as a full length production - this time gnomier and with extra yearning.
Praise for Charlie Wood’s work:
“The best writer we have in the fringe world right now” - Lachlan Werner
“Wonderful” - John Cameron Mitchell
“Delicious, hilarious, surprising, heartbreaking and beautiful” - Hunter Manning
