The Divine Fringe Presents…
Split Bill: What is Something? & Monster F*ggot
Aaron Chote: What is Something?
Two men in a nightclub. One has been at the bar since he arrived, watching. The other hasn't stopped moving since before he got there. One hides in the dark and calls it thinking. The other hides in the light and calls it living.
With forty minutes of movement, music, and text, What Is Something? is a play about what it costs to let someone see you. Both of them think they know the answer. That's the problem.
Written and directed by Aaron Chote. Performed by Aaron Chote and Giorgio Spiegelfeld. DJ: Ian, the DJ. Choreography by Milly Rose Collins. Technical design by Fleur Bloemsma.
Duration: 40 minutes
Luis Hopkins: Monster F*ggot
Monster F*ggot is a journey through obsession – it searches for meaning in a terrain of dirt and shame and confronts a yearning for something so desperate that it consumes your entire being. The yearning is obsessive, it is consuming, it is uncontrollable.
In this unyielding pursuit, Luis collaborates with the body and screen to physicalise a deep, entangled yearnful existence in a final plea to be free. The yearning will persist, but he will continue to work to articulate the wretched process of giving into its consumption.
If you ever find yourself yearning, join him on this journey; whether it is for love, lust or a different life.
