Join us for a FREE two-hour political writing workshop where you’ll have the chance to explore big ideas with playwriting.
Through guided exercises, we’ll look at how to turn the world around us into bold pieces of theatre.
Led by Cerys Duffy, playwright, director, and the creator of You’ve Gone Quiet.
Who it’s for
This workshop is open to everyone. Whether you have several plays under your belt, or are exploring playwriting for the first time, you’ll take away something new from a supportive environment.
We especially encourage people from the global majority, LGBTQ+ communities, and anyone who feels their voice isn’t always heard, to come along.
What you’ll learn
During the workshop, you will:
- Explore ways to mine the world around us for ideas
- Create characters that are nuanced and realistic
- Experiment with radical ways of writing.
- Build confidence in your own voice without becoming ‘preachy’
Part of Open Handed Theatre’s tour of You’ve Gone Quiet , playing at Jack Studio Theatre on 2nd June to 6th June.
Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
