The Divine Fringe Presents…
Split Bill: No Kings & Casj with a Z
St. Patrick Star: No Kings
Empires crumble just as Mr. Saint Patrick Star is about to rise as a King in London. And for a good reason! For the first time in drag history, he’s struggling to find an audience in the harsh climate conditions of the Divided Kingdom. In a world full of cunty queens, why not support a cunty king?
Proud transgender Butch and lencho from Sinaloa (a cartel-controlled state, and with a lot of bling), he’s been migrating for around 10 years. Ever since, he has been in search of his drag community in scenes around the world. But there is one place he knows he definitely can’t go back to with his Mexican passport: The United States of America. In search of the dollars to be made in drag, he ended up on another planet even more far away from home: London.
To his surprise, there were no dollars in London - just big heavy pound coins to be thrown at you. Even though the people here speak English too, the mysterious and warlike nation off the coast of western Asia never fails to amuse him. It produces an uncanny valley effect on his alien brain. Get ready to hop with him on a rocketship and travel back in time to 80’s London, his favourite decade. Humour him even if just for one fringe performance ;)
After almost 10 years of fighting for global Drag King visibility, it’s time for Mr. Worldwide to really show his underappreciated talents. Yes, he’s hot, but he’s also not a himbo! He just has an accent and needed to “develop” his work to translate into UK cabaret.
Three drag performances:
- Anglo-sphere Debut (Performed in Washington DC)
- Chinese Debut (Performed at Liquid! Liquid!)
- London’s latest from Butch, Please!
Duration: 30 minutes
Katy Tonge: Casj with a Z
Set in the toilet of a small club, with cubicles adorned with the names of pop divas such as Celine Dion, Tina Turner and (most importantly) Dolly Parton - Liv, a glitteringly camp, chaotic, and agentless drama school graduate, is forced to accept an invite to karaoke with her old classmates. With an opportunity to impress and to erase her past, ‘Casj with a Z’ offers us glimpses of her night as she hides out in the bathroom until she can finally face her failures – both as a performer and as a friend.
A show comprised of golden-age musical theatre numbers, narcissistic freakouts, and a heavy reliance on Dolly Parton - it balances both the awkward and the over the top. This performance will be presenting the first half of the show as part of its development.
Cast -
Liv - Katy Tonge
Billie - Emma Cooney
Emma - Rachel McAuliffe
Duration: 30 mins
