Club Bananas is coming to a new venue! We’ll be running this Thursday evening class at All Saints Community Centre in New Cross. Since it’s a fresh space and invites the theme of new beginnings, we decided to go with the “Fantasy” theme to embrace this new journey! 🛤️🌳
Once upon a time there was an artist called Banana Holdwin, they founded an art club for local creative people in South London who were looking to make new connections and unwind through gentle art-making classes. The club’s name…? Club Bananas! 🍌💛
Launching in 2025 at SET Social, Peckham, Banana began bringing together an amazing and inclusive community of; kind, respectful and inspiring individuals who were thrilled to have a space to create art together freely in a calm and unserious environment. ✌🏻
Club Bananas had become such a hit it was time to expand…! 🎇
And that brings us to this class…
Banana met with the lovely Community Centre Manager, Nathaniel who saw potential in the young artist’s ambitions for holding an Arts and Crafts club at their venue and decided to give them a chance (thank you Nathaniel!) 💐🌙
And so, Club Bananas is coming to New Cross! The first session will be a classic collaging workshop under the theme of “Fantasy”. The theme is a broad one and invited attendees to create their own exciting world through collage! 🌿🎨
Some ideas to get you started: Utopias, Ideal Environment, Surrealism, Dream Settings, Magical Realms, Secret Gardens and Woodlands, Pixies, Elves, Fairies, Sorcery, Folklore, Fairytales, Film (The Lord of the Rings, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, Star Wars, Spirited Away).
Tickets will be available at a pay as you can rate starting from £3. 🎫 ✨
As with all Club Bananas events, all materials will be provided! You are more than welcome to bring anything additional you would like to use (your favourite sketchbook, magazines, pens, stickers etc). 📖 ✂️
Unfortunately, the venue does not have step free access to the room we will be using - apologies for this! We are working on making accessible changes for the next event.
