Create your own wearable Pride protest tote using reclaimed textiles, stitch, fabric collage, and hand-made lettering in this relaxed and community-focused workshop.
Together we’ll explore Pride as protest, collective expression, and the power of making visible statements through craft and textiles. Participants will transform old tote bags or fabric items into personal pieces that can be worn, carried, and used throughout Pride Month and beyond.
Using reclaimed fabrics, felt lettering, simple stitching techniques, patches, and optional fabric paint, attendees will create bold and expressive designs rooted in identity, care, resistance, joy, and visibility. No sewing experience is needed.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring an old tote bag, fabric item, or garment to reclaim and transform. Blank tote bags will also be available to purchase on the day for those who need one.
This workshop is beginner-friendly and centred around creativity, accessibility, sustainability, and process over perfection. Expect a welcoming atmosphere with space for conversation, experimentation, and collective making.
