Write to Roam is a writing workshop woven into a hike. For this month’s hike we are walking from Lewes to Seaford🌊
This is a community event created to bring people together, in nature, whilst connecting with your creative self. The creative writing workshop consists of simple exercises, with no pressure to share your writing with the rest of the group.
Anyone is welcome at Write to Roam, you do not have to work in a creative field to take part. All we ask is that you approach the day with kindness towards others. Write to Roam is for anyone who uses writing as a creative outlet. The hike a chance for you to connect with nature, through creativity.
You can come armed with an idea you’re currently working on, use the prompts to get started on something new, or just see where the vibe takes you ✏️
We’ll meet and gather at London Victoria train station, before travelling together to the start of the trail. At the end of the day we will arrive back at Seaford station to catch the train home.
Meeting Point: London Victoria Station (by Oliver Bonas)
Meeting Time: 9:10am
Hike: Hard (15k)

We will be getting the 9:24am train from Victoria to Seaford (open-return). We’ll hop off early at Lewes to begin the trail. You must book your own train ticket for the 13th.
The end time is subject to change based on the pace of the group (and this is a hard route, so please take this into account before booking!) However, this route also ends at the beach! So pack your swimming costume and a towel if you’d like to go for a dip.
Write to Roam hikes take place once a month and the trails vary between easy, moderate and hard. Each month we take a different route, stopping to write 3 times along the hike.
Keep an eye on the weather and please check the FAQ’s doc in the group info for details about lunch, loos, shoes, what to bring etc. You will receive an email 48hrs before the hike as a reminder of the event. If you have any questions, please email at commonground.ldn@gmail.com
