We're delighted to announce this free session at The Brighthelm Centre, on Wednesday 22nd July, 2:30-4:00pm. This session is open to anyone over 50 who identifies as trans, non-binary or intersex and is run in partnership with The Clare Project (facilitators August and Victoria will be there). The leader is community member and friend of The Clare Project Bela (she/they).

What will we be doing? We will use stringed instruments - cellos, violas, and violins - to make sounds and music together. This is place where there's no 'right' or 'wrong' sound - it's a playful session where we enjoy exploring instruments together and the interesting sounds they make. Confident musicians and complete beginners are equally welcome - the instruments are provided (or feel free to bring your own if you have one).
The themes of the session are exploration, listening, playfulness, self-expression, and creating together. This is a light-hearted and supportive session, with fun and wellbeing as the focus: like a friendly campfire jam session, where every sound is welcome.
People who have taken part in these sessions have said:
'I feel lighter - what a treat!'
‘Such fun to be playful’
‘It was amazing to play with the others, to hear what was happening, and to join in’
'I was flabbergasted at how much I enjoyed it and got out of it. I've never held a stringed instrument before and I just loved getting a note out of the cello!"
Book your free place below and join us for an afternoon doing something different!
