Calling all queer and allies salseros y bachateros, ā Sanura Dance is bringing the heat to the London Pride Parade, and we want YOU dancing with us! š
We're putting together a fierce dance crew, moving through the streets of London to a salsa and merengue set.
Our prep workshop already happened, but we know not everyone could make it ā and we still want you with us on the streets of London. That's why we've kept registration open: you won't miss out on marching with us. š
A personal note from Sandy
Pride is the march, party, and moment I look forward to most each year.
As a teenager I watched Pride on TV ā what a spectacular display of love and self-expression. El Orgullo de Madrid has always held my greatest memories. The first time I marched in Madrid was in 2011, it took 6 hours. I swore I'd never do it again. Of course, I kept going: London, Brighton, Lithuania, Dublin, Herne Bay.
I've watched Pride from every angle ā groups of friends soaking up the atmosphere, first-timers, grandmothers walking with their grandchildren showing them how much they love them for who they are, children learning to celebrate freedom and expression. I've followed floats with the best music without a second thought, and spent three years on the "Tijeritas" float ā by the end, people knew us as the veterans. If you've never stood on a float and looked out at the crowd, you're missing something. The faces. It means so much to so many people.
My participation has changed over the years, but that feeling of celebration, of validation, of knowing we are an extraordinary community that has been through so much and only grows stronger? That never changes.
Pride built my confidence as a lesbian, and it remains one of the biggest sources of queer energy I carry through the year.
I never imagined I'd be building a float and leading a group of people into the parade ā and I'm incredibly excited. I can't wait to share this completely new way of marching with you. We'll dance and show the world our moves. Every single one of us makes this community what it is: a beautiful, unstoppable force of people willing to be exactly who they are and live life straight from the heart.
This is going to last forever in our memories. I hope you'll be part of it. š

Two chances to practice before the big day
š Sanura Pride Social ā dance the routine together in a party setting (separate ticket required)
š©° Open Practice ā the week of the parade, run through the choreo with the group
No experience needed ā the video and open practice will get you parade-ready, whatever your level.
