About the Workshop

In this fun and welcoming workshop, participants will learn basic samba steps, explore the rhythm and spirit of this iconic dance, and experience the vibrant culture that makes samba so special. About Bellas da Silveira
Bellas da Silveira is a Black trans artist from Rio de Janeiro working across dance, performance, carnival arts and somatic practice. With a foundation in Afro-Brazilian and contemporary dance, her work celebrates the body as a site of joy, transformation and resistance.
This summer marks Bellas’ second UK/European tour where she will bring powerful Brazilian dance workshops to the UK and beyond.
Bellas has performed and taught across Brazil, UK, France and Germany with groups like Portela, Paraíso do Tuiuti, Queer Salsa, Popola, and Amigos da Onça, and at major festivals including Rock in Rio, Migration Matters Festival, Bristol Pride and Spanta. Her practice is grounded in ancestry, collective empowerment and radical embodiment.
