Drag, at its core, has ALWAYS been a protest. From the Stonewall Riots of 1969, led by black trans drag queen Marsha P. Johnson and trans POC Sylvia Rivera; to the continuation of drag shows despite all the push back from the far right recently. Drag is underground, drag is punk, political, and rebellious.
Cabaret Rébellion is about bringing that back, away from all the commercialisation of RuPaul's Drag Race, and back into the gritty cabaret roots of UK Drag.
Join us on the 14th August 2026, at The Hub @ Eden, Birmingham, for hopefully the first of many evenings filled with debauchery, rebellion, and queer/trans joy. Hosted and curated by Birmingham's drag nuisance Siren, and starring:
- King Markiss - Oxford's thunder from Down Under, Aoteroa's champion of drag king-ery, and “The Best Mug in Oxford”
- Nefarious DeVile - The Dynastic Diva of Slaytanic Tales, Nottingham's own transmasc icon, and co-producer of Helluva Cabaret in Manchester.
- Dame Deadly - Trans goddess and premier winner of “Dolls Club: The Padge”, all the way from sunny Brighton, with a side of burlesque and beauty.
- Open Mic: Synagogue Roan - Comedic genius and stunning trans individual, having recently competed in “Dolls Club: The Padge”, amongst other local drag competitions.
- On Tech: Crypelle
Don't miss out, buy a ticket, and support local drag!!
