About Zoë
Zoë represented the Dalston ward in Hackney as a Green Party councillor from 2022 until her election as mayor. She also co-led the Green Party councillors in Hackney. As a councillor, Zoë worked to protect independent nightlife, Ridley Road market and Gillett Square. Zoë has also been an elected London Assembly member since May 2024 where she chaired the housing committee and participated in committees on police and crime, and planning and regeneration.
Zoë spent over a decade working in the public sector and NHS, holding senior roles in public health, adult social care and children’s health services. She had a particular emphasis on tackling health inequalities and improving outcomes for underserved communities. Alongside her professional career, Zoë has a strong track record of community involvement in Hackney. She has been active in local campaigns and resident-led initiatives, including work to support local markets, tenants and community spaces.
As mayor, Zoë is committed to working in partnership with residents, businesses and organisations across the borough. Her approach focuses on fairness, transparency and community-led decision-making to address key challenges such as housing, the local economy and poverty.
Zoë lives in Dalston and has lived in Hackney for almost 15 years.
