Battle of Calder Street: The Pineapple Trophy
During the Battle of Calder Street on 7 August 2001, someone threw a pineapple at the police. Nobody is quite sure who. The pineapple passed into the folklore of the occupation. Now, twenty-five years later, Turner Prize-shortlisted artist Nathan Coley has reimagined it as a life-size silver trophy: an annual civic award presented to a community organisation whose work has deeply inspired us and continues to shape Govanhill's civic landscape. Followed by a conversation between Nathan Coley and Simone Stewart, Arts & Heritage Manager at Govanhill Baths Community Trust.
Level access, uneven indoor surfaces. Seating and standing, wheelchair spaces available.
