Join Glasgow Radical Tours for special anniversary tours of Govanhill Baths. Opened in 1917 as a public wash-house and swimming pool, the Baths were at the heart of working-class life in Govanhill for generations before Glasgow City Council closed them in 2001. Tracing that full history, the tours follow the swimmers, workers and neighbours who shaped the building, and those who occupied it twenty-five years ago in one of Britain's most remarkable acts of community resistance.
The tour will include staircases and uneven surfaces.
