Quiltmaking has historically been a radical craft, with many seen at protests every year. From Tracey Emin to the UK Aids Quilt, this craft transforms what is traditionally seen as “women's work” into something big, bold, and that you can't ignore.

Rhizomatic is excited to be hosting a protest banner making workshop ahead of this year's queer events like Dyke March, Pride, and Trans Pride! Always wanted to make a quilt yourself but don't know how? We will walk you through a range of techniques to play with, some that are super easy and some a bit more of a challenge. Each participant will walk away with a banner they feel proud of that can accompany them to every protest, or grace their bed or wall :)
