Join Crystal Palace Friends of Palestine on Sunday 5th July for an event about the role of football in the struggle for the recognition of Palestinian identity. We are delighted to be joined by:

Esteemed Palestinian scholar Dr Nadia Naser-Najjab (University of Exeter) author of an article on the subject, dedicated to her close friend and co-author, Shireen Abu Akleh, will explore the rich history of football in Palestine.
Scottish Sport for Palestine will talk about their recent report on Israeli settlement clubs in Occupied Palestine.

This will be followed by a Q&A, moderated by Dr Max Mauro (University of Bournemouth), an expert in the field of sport, media and politics.

To set the scene, you might be interested in the discussion of the significance of football in the first ten minutes of this recent interview with former Israeli negotiator, Daniel Levy, on Novara Media's Downstream.

Refreshments will be available during the event.

Croydon Football Club has free parking for attendees. 3 minute walk from Arena Tram stop, 20 minute walk from Norwood Junction train station. Bus routes 130, 197, and 312.

Free to attend however booking is required.

Donations will go towards covering the cost of this event so that Crystal Palace Friends of Palestine can continue to provide free and affordable events to the local community.
