Following our SELL OUT Pride Special, Naked Boys Reading returns to Chats Palace for a VERY special evening with SIX glorious readers, lovingly curated by the Four Quartets Prize winning poet and iconic American Homo Dante Micheaux.
NAKED BOYS READING: Alfred Celestine & the Celestials
The little-known gay African-American poet Alfred Celestine (1949-2009) left behind a small body of work that is profound in its insights on race and gender in the human emotional field. His poems reveal an interior life of complexity and dream, that looks into a singular identity's deep history. Black and homosexual, like several great artists, Celestine is a Queer literary beacon for today's reader. And what could be more Queer than a bevy of exquisites reading selections from his work. Join us to celebrate this great ancestor with "the old light in his eyes"!
We hope you can c*m! (What else would you be doing on a hump-day?)
