Our next hike is a picturesque riverside stroll along the River Ouse and Clifton and Rawcliffe Ings. Expect river scenery, countryside views, and hopefully lots of wildlife! 🌿🐦⬛
This is a 9km circular route with only around 66m of elevation, taking roughly 2 and a half hours. It’s very flat and manageable, but there may still be muddy sections and uneven paths. So come well prepared with solid footwear.
This hike is very beginner friendly, so a great opportunity to come along and give the group a go! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Where To Meet
📍 Marygate Car Park, 9 Frederic St, York YO30 7DT at 10:30am. We’ll be setting off by 10:45am.
If you’re travelling from Leeds on public transport, we recommend:
🚆 The 9:52 train to York which gets in at 10:14. It’s then a short walk to the car park.
About The Hike
The paths along the river can get muddy, so sturdy footwear is essential. Bring plenty of water, suncream, and a hat as we’re likely to be graced with the sunshine! 🤞☀️
The walk will finish approximately 1:30pm so we’ll probably stop for lunch at the end, bring food and snacks for the day.
You’ll then have the afternoon to explore York if you wish, and we’ll inevitably be gathering somewhere for our post hike drink!
As always, newcomers and solo hikers are very welcome! These walks are relaxed, friendly, and a great way to meet people.
🎟️ Grab your free ticket at 10am on Saturday 18th July.
We can’t wait to see you out on the trails 🌿
