Resourcing a Community: Under Your Nose Film Screening & Conversation
We’re hosting a film screening of Under Your Nose by Veronica McKenzie, a documentary about the Black Lesbian and Gay Centre. The centre opened in 1985 and provided a much-needed space for Black queer people in London, demonstrating the importance of solidarity economics for communities.
The screening will be followed by a reflection circle with speakers Veronica, Dennis (founder of the Black Lesbian and Gay Centre), and Bambi (UK House mother Maison Laveaux). The conversation will be hosted by Blaq Roots Co-op.
This event is part of Medicine: Lessons in Black Economic Interdependence, a project exploring African-centred Solidarity economic practices.
Snacks will be provided.
