Activating the Archives - National HIV Story Trust
What is an archive and what does it do? How do we engage with the stories that lay within? And what does it mean to activate and respond to an archive, particularly one with such a diffuse set of experiences and an overwhelming socio-political history?
Join the National HIV Stories Trust Archive Volunteers for an evening of sharing creative responses and working to understand the memory and care housed within the National HIV Stories Trust archives.
This event is part of HIVstory - an innovative and exciting outreach project imagined by The National HIV Story Trust, who have amassed the largest collection of filmed testimony in the UK from people who have been affected by HIV and AIDS.
This three-year project has been created in association with The London Archives, The Royal College of Nursing, Newcastle University and the University of Central London; thanks to a grant awarded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund – and with thanks to all National Lottery players.
Refreshments will be provided.
