Curious about food, specialty coffee, or starting a career in hospitality? Come along for a hands-on afternoon to see what working in the sector is actually like. No experience needed, completely free for 15-25 year-olds.

BaxterStorey: One of the UK’s leading independent hospitality and catering providers, managing restaurants, cafes, and food venues across workplaces, film studios, and major sites.
Well Grounded: An award-winning social enterprise and specialty coffee academy that offers free barista training, accredited qualifications, and mentorship to help people break into the coffee industry.

What’s Included:

Buddha Bowl Workshop: Build your own lunch alongside professional chefs. You'll sit down with members of BaxterStorey’s LGBTQ+ employee network to chat about chef careers, kitchen life, and what working in an inclusive team looks like.
Barista Stall (with Well Grounded): Find out how Well Grounded’s free barista academies and training courses work, learn about specialty coffee, and explore entry routes into local cafes and coffee shops.
Early Careers & Apprenticeships: Chat with the talent team about entry-level roles, apprenticeships, and the different paths available.
CV & Interview Prep Station: Bring a draft of your CV or just bring your questions. Get straightforward, practical advice on how to interview well and frame your skills for employers, or do a mock interview with a member of the BaxterStorey team.
Industry Q&A: Hear from professionals who started from scratch. They’ll share how they got into food and coffee, what their day-to-day jobs actually involve, and honest advice for anyone starting out.

As with all Mosaic Works career days and employability events, showing up to this day matters. Because it proves you've got the initiative, engagement, and reliability to show up on time, members who participate will get extra consideration for upcoming paid work experience placements through Mosaic.

❗❗❗ You must be a registered young adult (15-25) member of Mosaic LGBT+ Young Persons' Trust to attend this event. Membership will be confirmed and tickets will be cancelled if you are not a registered member. If you are between the ages of 18-25, you can register for free here. If you are 15-18, you can register here.
