Andrea Arnold (Fish Tank, Bird) makes the screen sing like only she can in her soaring drama about a crew of runaways and lost boys road tripping across America to make their fortune selling magazine subscriptions in American Honey (2016).
We'll be graced by a video introduction from Sasha Lane (How To Blow Up A Pipeline), who makes her unforgettable break out as the film's heroine, a girl who jumps at a chance to escape an intolerable home environment by chasing the promise of adventure, community, and maybe even love that reaches out toward her when the road crew roll through her town.
With a pitch perfect supporting turn by Riley Keough (Zola), incomparable cinematography by Robbie Ryan (2011's Wuthering Heights, The Favourite) and a poetically attuned soundtrack including the likes of Rihanna and Mazzy Star, American Honey (2016) reminds us of the emotional heights and utter immersion cinema is capable of at its rare best.
Join us downstairs at Dalston Superstore and let this one wash over you.
