Join Journeys for one of the Peak District’s most rewarding circular walks, taking in three stunning summits with breathtaking views across the Hope Valley.
Starting and finishing in Edale, this circular route visits The Knott, Mam Tor, Hollins Cross and Lord’s Seat, combining iconic ridgeline walking with quieter Peak District trails.
We’ll bag three peaks
- The Knott
- Mam Tor
- Lord’s Seat
We’ll walk at a relaxed, friendly pace with plenty of opportunities to stop for photos, enjoy the views and take a breather. As always with Journeys, nobody gets left behind.
About the Walk
- Distance: 7.8 miles (12.6 km)
- Approximate duration: 3½–4 hours (including breaks)
- Elevation gain: 1,500 ft (457 m)
- Difficulty: Moderate
We’ll take our time, enjoy the scenery, stop for photos and breaks, and make sure everyone enjoys the day. We always walk as a group, so nobody gets left behind.
What to Bring
- Walking boots or sturdy trail shoes
- Waterproof jacket
- Warm layer (the weather can change quickly on the hills)
- At least 1 litre of water

Toilets & Facilities
There are public toilets at Edale before we begin. Once we’re on the hill, there are no facilities until we return, so please use the toilets before we set off.
Parking & Public Transport

The walk will go ahead in most weather conditions. If the forecast suggests conditions that would make the walk unsafe, we’ll contact everyone as early as possible with an alternative plan or rearranged date.
Safety
Your walk leader is first aid trained and will be carrying a first aid kit. If you have any medical conditions, injuries, allergies or anything else you feel we should know about, please let us know before the walk.
