SUNDAY SALON !
Some of the most influential ideas of the 17th century were dreamed up in woman’s living rooms. In the early 1600s in France, women would host Salons and invite great artists, writers, and thinkers to share ideas and debate.
These intimate spaces to knowledge share helped shape culture, quickly becoming a central part of life in Paris at the time. Over two centuries, salons thrived and became a space for everyone no matter their background, until their decline in the late 19th century due to strict, conservative academic juries, the rise of independent exhibitions like the Impressionist shows, and the French government's decision in 1881 to withdraw state sponsorship.
In 2026, it’s time to bring these spaces of independent thought back. Introducing our Sunday Salon: a chill, come and go as you please space to meet other London thinkers and makers to share and learn. Everyone is asked to bring an article, book, Work in Progress, or thought to discuss or share with the crowd. You’re also welcome to read some of the independent publications and creative books in our living room space.
Hopefully these events prove popular and can become a weekly creative meeting place... lets see how it goes!
