- Topic: Celebrating life, experience & being LGBTQ+ after 50
- Date: Tuesday 8th September, 2026
- Time: 6 - 7.30pm
About this session
Getting older is often talked about in terms of what we might lose but what about the things we gain?
For some of us with age can come greater confidence, self-knowledge, perspective, freedom and a better understanding of what really matters to us. Our LGBTQ+ identities and experiences may also have changed and evolved along the way.
In this 50+ HangOut session, we’ll have a relaxed conversation about the things that have got better, easier or simply different as we’ve got older, from friendships and relationships to confidence, community, identity and having fun.
- What do you appreciate more now than you did when you were younger?
- What do you care less about these days?
- What has getting older taught you about yourself?
About 50+ HangOuts
A twice-monthly friendly and welcoming online social and peer support group for all older LGBTQ+ people aged 50 and over.
Our aim is to reduce isolation by creating a safe space to get to know each other through shared lived experiences, topic discussions and creative activities.
This online space is an opportunity to build community by coming together and connecting with one another in a safe and friendly non-judgmental space.
- Please try to arrive 5 minutes early. The Zoom room closes at 6.10pm (this is so we can minimise any disruption).
- Please read our online group agreement
