Come and celebrate the launch of the very first edition of our Interactive Field Guide to London!
Since 2022, we’ve been running wander|wonders — roaming through London’s green and blue spaces, getting to know the city through the power and sensitivity of art. Along the way, we use imagination, curiosity and creative practice to dive into deeper connection and more attentive relationships with all that grows, flows, crawls, flies beside us.
Deptford Beach is the first edition of the Walking Trees Collective’s Interactive Field Guide to London. We have 11 more up our sleeve so stay tuned...!
These field guides invite you to delve into the historical and ecological folds of London’s green and blue spaces. Each edition is a DIY Walking Trees wander which can be enjoyed solo or with a group - what a way to spend a day in the big smoke! Each edition offers creative ways to explore a particular place — noticing its stories, inhabitants, histories and hidden connections, and discovering how art and imagination might help us re-think our relationship with all that breathes and shimmers around us.
Come along to explore, play, wander and celebrate with us.
No art experience necessary.
Just bring a curious mind, an open heart, and an experimental hat!
We will meet at 1pm SHARP (we are in the hands of the tide!) and dip into a few activities drawn from the Field Guide on Deptford Beach. Try before you buy! ;) Afterwards from 2–4pm, we invite you to join us at The Dog and Bell, Deptford where we’ll be selling copies of Edition 1: Deptford Beach – Walking Trees Interactive Field Guide.
This event is FREE and Walking Trees events are safe and inclusive space for all. Please note that access to Deptford Beach where the activities will take place is via stairs. The Dog and Bell Pub has a level, step-free entrance and an access toilet, however there are steps to some of the rooms.
