Introducing MSJI Film Club by Muslim Social Justice Initiative 📽️: a social cinema club, screening beautiful and political films from the Muslim world 🎞️🍿
We’re so excited to be kicking off this new offering with a screening of Usman Riaz's ‘The Glassworker’ (شیشہ گر), Pakistan's first hand-drawn animated feature film and official entry for Best International Feature at the 97th Academy Awards.
Doors open at 18:30 for a 19:00 screening, with time to discuss the film in community afterwards.🍿
‘In a town divided by duty and class, Vincent, a glassmaker’s son, and Alliz, a violinist who is the colonel’s daughter, fall in love. As their bond grows, rising tensions between their families threaten to pull them apart. Brought to life through stunning hand-drawn animation, The Glassworker is a poetic tale of first love, family, and the price of staying true to your art.’
MSJI Film Club is pay what you can. Choose the level that works for you - higher-priced tickets help us keep free and reduced places available.
