Fringe! x Zhuzh the Yog Presents: Straight From the Yard
Zhuzh the Yog and Fringe! collaborate on a special fundraiser celebrating Queer Gypsy, Roma and Traveller storytelling through film and live performance. Straight from the Yard brings together stories of resilience, creativity and self-determination. All proceeds go to Traveller Pride.
FILMS
Queen Lizzie is a brutally honest, defiant, and moving portrait. This is followed by the cult classic Two Roma Boys - in Love, written by Czech Roma activist David Tišer. These are not coming-out stories; they are stories of resistance—that carve out space for love, celebrate community, and imagine a queer future where we can bring our heritage with us. The films are in various languages with English subtitles. Content warnings include: Violence, strong language, depictions of transphobia and homophobia

PERFORMANCEThe films will be followed by a live performance from Thoroughly modern Marilyn, the Romany disabled artist who was too much and too little all at the same time, and a journey of self-expression through spoken word and rap by Irish Traveller artist Elizabeth Conners.NETWORKING
