TAIFA CINEMA
TAIFA is a lesbian collective that focuses on building a community around music, culture, cinema, fashion and art. The meaning of TAIFA comes from Bulgarian and it means a group of people that have similar interests in music, culture and art.
TAIFA CINEMA:
TAIFA now is starting a new venture - monthly cinema club. This will be a monthly screenings held in the heart of Soho ( London, UK). You can now have the cinema experience with a specially curated programme of art house queer & lesbian films in the comfort of your own living room . The second screening will take place on 11th September at All is Joy in Soho. Come early so you can meet your friends for a drink & catch up, meet new people , enjoy a nice cocktail at the bar before & after the screening.
Drinks will be available throughout the screening. This cinema club aims to give you the social experience while watching the film.
The event will start at 5pm, please don't be fashionably late
5- 7pm - drinks reception
7- 8:45pm - screening
9- 9:30pm - Q&A with production designer of the film
9:30pm - Midnight - drinks & film discussion

The film that will be screened that night will be ‘ Blue Jean’ (2022)
In 1988, a new law stigmatising gay and lesbian people forces Jean, a closeted gym teacher, to live a double life. As pressure mounts from all sides, the arrival of a new student catalyses a crisis that will push Jean to the edge.
After the screening there will be a Q& A with the production designer discussing set design, colours, psychology and how it all shaped the queer representation in the film.
