Join us for our September hike around the Washburn Valley and Lindley Wood Reservoir! 🥾🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Expect scenic woodland trails and a riverside ramble with plenty of valley views.
This is a moderately challenging hike, covering a circular route of 16km and 210m of elevation. It is best suited to those with some previous hiking experience and will take us roughly 4.5 to 5 hours.
Starting in Otley we will head towards Lindley Wood Reservoir and explore the Washburn valley before returning through Leathley and along the River Wharfe. We’ll be finishing back in Otley for our post-hike pub stop!
Where To Meet
📍 Otley bus station, at 10:30am. We’ll be setting off at 10:45am.
If you’re travelling from Leeds on public transport, we recommend:
🚍 The X84 bus (via Headingley) or the 34 bus (via Guiseley).
About The Hike
The paths along the river and in the woodlands can get muddy and slippery, so sturdy footwear with ankle support is essential. Bring plenty of water, layers, and waterproofs.
We’ll stop for lunch somewhere scenic along the route, so bring food and snacks for the day.
As always, newcomers and solo hikers are very welcome! These walks are relaxed, friendly, and a great way to meet people.
🎟️ Grab your free ticket at 8pm on Sunday 13th September.
We can’t wait to see you out on the trails!🌿
